The drill program comprises seven drill holes for a total of 1763.4 metres. Assay results are pending for the final two holes. Highlights to date are presented in Tables 1 and 2 below and include: 86m at 0.455 Cu and 0.66 g/t Au in drill hole RGA-12 (first Antares drill hole), 38m at 0.55% Cu and 0.77 g/t Au in RGA-15, and 66m at 0.46% Cu and 0.47 g/t Au in RGA-16. Results are also presented for six additional trenches and include 56m of 0.49% Cu and 0.55 g/t Au in T-31 (see Table 3 for a summary of new trench trench: see ocean.  results).

These drill and trench results confirm the presence of significant higher-grade oxide oxide, chemical compound containing oxygen and one other chemical element. Oxides are widely and abundantly distributed in nature. Water is the oxide of hydrogen. Silicon dioxide is the major component of sand and quartz.  Cu-Au mineralization Mineralization

at the newly discovered Sofia Zone and also identify higher-grade oxide Cu-Au mineralization within the previously identified Discovery Zone.

Antares can earn up to a 60% interest in the Rio Grande project from Mansfield by completing certain work expenditures, making certain payments and issuing shares to Mansfield over a four-year period (see press release dated July 14, 2004).

John Black, President of Antares Minerals Inc. commented as follows:

"We are encouraged by the results to date from our drilling and trenching campaign at Rio Grande. The objectives of this initial program were to identify new areas of mineralization and to confirm that portions of the system contain greater than 0.5% Cu and 0.5 g/t Au. The discovery of the Sofia Zone has met both of these objectives and provided us with increased confidence about the potential at Rio Grande. We are also encouraged that angle drilling in the Discovery Zone has returned better results than previous vertical drilling. In addition to the Discovery and Sofia Zones we have several additional targets to test for near-surface oxide Cu-Au mineralization as well as potential for deeper sulfide sulfide, chemical compound containing sulfur and one other element or sulfur and a radical. Sulfides may be salts or esters of hydrogen sulfide, H2S, or may be formed directly, e.g., by heating a metal with sulfur.  Cu-Au mineralization. Subject to weather conditions and drill rig availability we plan to return with a more extensive drilling campaign to test these targets commencing in September of this year."

Rio Grande Drill Program

Antares has completed an initial drill campaign at the Rio Grande project with seven drill holes totaling 1763.4 metres. The Antares holes are numbered RGA-12 through RGA-18. Teck Corporation ("Teck") previously completed eleven drill holes (RG-01-01 to RG-01-11) at the project in 2001. Drilling was completed with a UDR-650 drill rig with the upper portions of three of the holes as reverse circulation cuttings and the majority of drilling as diamond drill core. Geochemical assay results have been received for the first five holes and the significant results are summarized in Table 1 below.

The drill holes encountered a sequence of intermediate sub-volcanic intrusive rocks (Geol.) rocks which have been forced, while in a plastic or melted state, into the cavities or between the cracks or layers of other rocks. The term is sometimes used as equivalent to plutonic rocks ltname>. It is then contrasted with effusive or volcanic rocks.

Drill holes RGA-12 and RGA-13 were completed in the Discovery Zone where previous vertical drilling by Teck (RG-01 to RG-04) encountered widespread oxide Cu-Au mineralization. RGA-12, Antares' first drill hole, was collared approximately equidistant e·qui·dis·tant

Cu-Au mineralization with 86m at 0.45% Cu and 0.66 g/t from the surface including the first 46m at 0.59% Cu and 0.78 g/t Au. RGA-13 was collared near RG-01-02 and drilled at -60 degrees to the south to test the southern margin of the Discovery Zone beneath Antares trench T-23 (see press release of February 02, 2005). This hole encountered multiple zones of oxidized Cu-Au mineralization to a depth of 210m (see Table 1).

Drill holes RGA-14, RGA-15, and RGA-16 were completed in the Sofia Zone to test mineralization that was recently discovered in Antares trench T-28 (see press release of February 02, 2005). RGA-14 and RGA-15 form a drill fan to test the down dip extension of the mineralization encountered in trench T-28 (108m at 0.57% Cu and 0.92 g/t Au). RGA-14 intersected the mineralized zone approximately 200m below the surface and from 138-242m encountered two zones of mineralization (52m at 0.36% Cu and 0.43 g/t Au and 42m at 0.36% Cu and 0.42 g/t Au) that are separated by a 10m zone of weakly weak·ly

Cu-style mineralization (13m at 0.24% Cu and 0.27 g/t Au). RGA-15 intersected the mineralized zone at approximately 100m depth below surface and encountered an upper oxide zone with 38m at 0.55% Cu and 0.77 g/t Au and a lower oxide zone with 68m at 0.32% Cu and 0.25 g/t Au. The zones are separated by 18m of poorly mineralized rock. The upper zone also hosts an 8m interval with better-grade gold mineralization (8m at 0.45% Cu and 2.22 g/t Au) that represents the immediate down-dip extension of the higher-grade gold zone previously reported from trench T-28. This higher-grade gold zone is not identified at depth in RGA-15 and also does not appear to continue along strike to other trenches to the north and south of T-28.

RGA-16 was completed approximately 275m to the south of the section formed by T-28, RGA-14, and RGA-15 and slightly more than 300m to the north of drill hole RG-01-03 at the northernmost end of the Discovery Zone (see map at CCNMatthews website Rio Grande maps: http://www2.ccnmatthews.com/database/fax/2000/331ant.pdf). RGA-16 intersects the down-dip extension of mineralization exposed in trench T-32. Assay results from T-32 are pending, however the trench exposes abundant black and green Cu-oxide minerals that appear to represent the southward south·ward

strike extension of the mineralization encountered in T-28. RGA-16 intersected the mineralized zone at an average depth of approximately 50m below the surface and encountered 66m at 0.46% Cu and 0.47 g/t Au including an interval of 22m at 0.75% Cu and 0.72 g/t Au.

Assay results are pending for RGA-17, located approximately 225m to the northwest of RGA-14 to test for the NW extension of the Sofia Zone, and RGA-18, located on the same section as T-32 and RGA-16 to test for the deeper extension of mineralization.

Update on Rio Grande trenching

Four new trenches have been completed at Rio Grande for a total of fourteen trenches by Antares (approximately 3800 total metres). Assay results were previously reported for three trenches (T-23, T-24, and T-28). New results have been received for all or portions of six additional trenches. Significant results from all Antares trenching to date are listed in Table 3 below.

All trenches to date have encountered intervals of at least anomalous a·nom·a·lous

The most significant of the newly reported trench results is from T-31, located about 50m to the south of T-28, where the southern extension of the T-28 mineralization is intersected with 86m at 0.39% Cu and 0.41 g/t Au including 56m at 0.49% Cu and 0.55 g/t Au. Trench T-30 is located approximately 75m north of T-28 and only encountered lower-grade mineralization but has been strongly affected by supergene su·per·gene

Trench T-27, located approximately 225m to the northwest of T-28 has also been affected by supergene leaching and the lower Cu values encountered may not be representative of the potential at depth.
