Manitoba opens two new health centres.


WINNIPEG -- The Manitoba Health Manitoba Health is an agency of the Government of Manitoba. It is overseen by the Minister of Health, and provides information on various aspects of health care in Manitoba, Canada.  Minister, Tim Sales, announced two new health centres.

In Riverton a new community health-care centre will develop community-based health programs and support timely access to health-care services. Programs, services and staff located in the Riverton Community Health Centre include a family physician, a nurse practitioner nurse practitioner

A registered nurse with special training for providing primary health care, including many tasks customarily performed by a physician.
, a public health nurse, EKG EKG: see electrocardiography.  equipment, a seniors resource co-ordinator and a community healthy-weight support group. Other regularly scheduled services include speech language pathology, community mental-health services, home-care case and resource coordination, family services and probation services.

The new Centre de Sante Montcalm Health Centre will integrate health and social-support services in the Rural Municipality of Montcalm. Programs and services include primary health care, the Families First Program, homecare co-ordination, public health and support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services  to seniors.
