:MAN) is pleased to announce that congressmen from the Piura Department (Tambogrande project), have sponsored a motion in the Peruvian Congress supporting the Tambogrande project. This motion recommends that the Executive branch of government approve the transfer of the 25% government ownership of the project to the region, and it recommends a third party review of the Environmental Impact Study.

Manhattan strongly supports this initiative as it will lead to greater participation from, and benefits to the people in the region. Local ownership is a critical component of development projects in the world today, and we are most pleased that the elected representatives for our region support this benefit for their constituents.

The concluding portion of the motion before congress states;

"Although the final decision is in the hands of the Tambogrande population, we are inclined to suggest that the Supreme Government should reopen re·o·pen
