The new convention center houses 1.5 million square feet of space overlooking Mandalay Bay's tropical 11acre beach and lagoon. At its January 2003 opening, the Mandalay Bay Convention Center was the fifth largest convention center in the country. It offers nearly 1 million square feet of exhibit space and can also easily accommodate up to 75 simultaneous sessions.

The crown jewel of the four-level facility is the 10O,00O-square-foot, pillar-less mega ballroom. The largest hotel ballroom in the nation, the Mandalay Bay Ballroom can accommodate a sit-down dinner for 6,200 guests or theater-style seating for 8,500 people.
