AKAM Associates, Inc. announced that Michael Berenson has been named president of the firm. In his new position, Berenson will oversee AKAM's daily operations and the supervision of personnel.

Previously Berenson served as executive vice president of AKAM Associates. While in that position, he developed the Genesis System, the firm's first Internet-driven communications vehicle.

Berenson has received numerous industry awards, most notable in the areas of finance and management.

The Garibaldi Group announced that Peter S. Nicoletti has joined the firm as managing director of financial services. In his new position, Nicoletti will oversee all capital market transactions.

Prior to joining the Garibaldi Group, Nicoletti served as senior vice president of Rockwood Realty Associates. While there, he became responsible for $1 billion worth of equity sales and financing transactions.

Nicoletti holds a B.S. from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Phillips Nizer Benjamin Krim & Ballon LLP announced that Kenneth K. Fisher has joined the firm as partner. In his new position, Fisher will practice corporate litigation.

Prior to joining Phillips Nizer Benjamin Krim & Ballon, Fisher served a ten-year term as New York City council member.

Fisher holds a B.A. from the University of the Pacific and a J.D. from Syracuse University. He is a member of the Brooklyn Bar Association and the Association of the Bar.

Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels announced that Arthur Buser has been promoted to the position of managing director.

Previously Buser served as head of West Coast operations for Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels. While in that position, he arranged the sale of the Inns of California coastal boutique portfolio and the sale of The Peabody Orlando.

Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Buser worked for the Hilton Hotels.

Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels announced that Amelia Lim has been promoted to the position of vice president.

Lim specializes in advisory and consulting work.

She was active in the sale of the Baltimore Hilton hotel and the management of the Diplomat Hotel in Florida.

Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz LLP announced that Jeffrey S. Reich, Esq. has been made a partner of the firm.

Reich specializes in real estate finance, commercial leasing, and cooperative/condominium law.

Reich holds a B.S.M. from Tulane University's Freeman School of Business and a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. He is a member of the New York and Florida Bar Associations.

The New York Mortgage Company LLC announced that P.J. Pamulo has been named vice president and regional operations manager for the firm. In her new position, Pamulo will oversee processing, underwriting, and quality control operations.

Prior to joining the New York Mortgage Company, Pamulo served as district operations manager and assistant vice president of the North American Mortgage Company.

Pamulo resides in Bayside, N.Y.

Insignia/ESG announced that Alan Ballew has been promoted to the position of chief financial officer. In his new position, Ballew will oversee the firm's accounting and administrative matters.

Previously, Ballew served as executive vice president and national controller. He oversaw the development of PeopleSoft, Insignia's new corporate and brokerage accounting platform.

Ballew holds a B.A. in accounting from Furman University.

The Law Offices of Claudia Wagner announced that Jay E. Adolf has joined the firm as a counsel.

In his new position, Adolf will represent clients in cases involving the City of New York and its public authorities.

Adolf has more than 25 years of experience in law. Prior to joining Claudia Wagner's office, he served as a counsel for the New York State Assembly. While there, Adolf has focused on such matter as economic development, financial services, tourism, and human services.

The Law Office of Claudia Wagner announced that Elizabeth H. Berger has joined the firm as a counsel.

Berger has more than 20 year of experience in public law. Prior to joining Claudia Wagner's office, she worked at the Department of Governmental and External Affairs at Lincoln Center.

Abrams is executive vice president of the Lansco Corporation. She specializes in retail leasing and consulting. Her clients include The Children's Place, Lucky Jeans, and Citibank N.A.

Abrams is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. She resides in New York City with her husband and two children.

Baker Residential announced that Robert Holmes has been named director of project development for the firm. In this role, Holmes will focus on business development and investment analysis.

Prior to joining Baker Residential, Holmes served as vice president of the Dillon Group, LLC. In that position he managed all aspects of development for the company's Florida operations.

Holmes holds a degree in operations management from Radford University. He is a member of the New Jersey Builders Association and the Urban Land Institute. He resides in Chester, N.J. with his wife and three children.

The New York Building Congress announced that Marilyn Jordan Taylor has been elected chairman of the organization. In this position, Taylor will oversee the organization's policies and programs.

Taylor is chairman of Skidmore Owings & Merrill LLP and a renowned architect and urban designer. She specializes in urban and civic improvement projects. Currently she is overseeing the design of the new Pennsylvania Station in New York City. Taylor is also serving as co-chairman of the New York City Infrastructure Task Force.

Taylor holds a B.A. in government and urban affairs from Harvard College and an M.A. in architecture from the University of California at Berkeley. She has also completed graduate work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Taylor is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Commercial Real Estate Women, and the Institute for Urban Design.

GVA Worldwide announced that Cecilia A. Mowatt has joined the firm as international president. In her new position, Mowatt will focus on client management, new business development, and international services.

Mowatt has more than 10 years of experience in business development and transaction management. Prior to joining GVA Worldwide, she handled business development for the McDonald's Corporation.

Cage-Babcock & Associates, Inc. announced that Joseph M. Hayes has been named senior security manager for its New York office. In his new position, Hayes will be responsible for security consulting.

Hayes has more than 20 years of experience in the design and management of physical security systems. He specializes in intrusion detection systems, access control, closed circuit television, and systems integration. He has provided security consulting services for such organizations as the City University of New York, Pace University, and Investment Bankers.

The Durst Organization announced that Thomas Bow has been named senior vice president of leasing.

Previously, Bow served as vice president of leasing. He was responsible for Conde Nest Publications' lease at 4 Times Square. Prior to joining the Durst Organization, Bow was a leasing broker at Cushman & Wakefield.

Bow holds a B.A. from Columbia University and an M.B.A. in real estate finance from Columbia School of Business. He is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York, the Young Men & Women's Real Estate Association, and the Westside Rental Conditions Committee. Bow resides in Darien, Conn.
