Cushman & Wakefield announced that Emily Ou has joined the firm as a director of retail services. In her new position, Ou will focus on securing tenant and landlord representation assignments and establishing business relationships.

Ou has 13 years of real estate experience. Throughout her career, she has specialized in developing urban retail projects for both national and regional companies in the Boston area. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, she was a senior associate at Trammel Crow.

Ou received a B.A. in art history from Tufts University.

McCarter & English announced that David Alan Richards was named a partner in the firm's New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 office. He will head the real estate department there.

Richards has more than 30 years of legal practice experience in commercial office development, office/retail! industrial leasing, and zoning. Prior to joining McCarter & English as a special counsel earlier this year, he served as a partner at Sidley & Austin, where he co-founder the firm's New York office and assumed responsibility for its real estate practice.

Richards is a graduate of Yale College and Cambridge University. He holds a J.D. from Yale University. He has served as chairman of the real property section of the American Bar Association American Bar Association (ABA), voluntary organization of lawyers admitted to the bar of any state. Founded (1878) largely through the efforts of the Connecticut Bar Association, it is devoted to improving the administration of justice, seeking uniformity of law  and the Anglo-American Real Property Institute.

Farrell Fritz, P.C. announced that John Racanelli will become a partner at he firm as of Jan. 1. He will specialize in commercial real estate transactions and construction law.

Racanelli has been a principal and a general counsel at the Racanelli Organization for more than 25 years. While there, he became responsible for the construction of more than 200 buildings and more than 1,000 acres of industrial and commercial property.

Levin Management Corporation announced that Gerald A. O'Brien has joined the firm as chief estimator.

O'Brien has more than 25 years of construction experience. Previously, he served in Levin's in-house construction department. His list of clients includes such firms as Turner Construction, Mahoney & Trost, and The Franklin Group.

O'Brien holds a B.A. in construction/civil engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He has completed a number of courses at New York University, including studies in project management, project cost control, and law.

Hines announced that Jim Lacancellera has been promoted to the position of vice president in its New York office.

Cushman & Wakefield announced that Anne Covell and Chuck Harry have been named as directors of its advisory group's analytics team.

Most recently, Covell served as regional director of analytics in the firm's Midtown office. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, she was the national director of research at Rockwood Realty Associates.
