Mathcad 2001

Mathcad 2001, a major new version of the software application for applying mathematics offers, new development tools, simulation capabilities, and support of MathML (Mathematical Mark-up Language), the first XML standard to he approved by the World Wide Web Consortium. envision XML

A graphical XML schema builder and generator tool that allows B2B project managers to implement and manage applications employing XML. The first version supports BizTalk and there are plans to develop versions to support DTD and Sox in the near future. Also whilst this version is stand alone it is aimed for envision XML to be an extension of System Architect 20001, compatible with SA version 8.

System Architect Simulator

Currently in Quality Assurance, this tool has been developed in order to enable system performance to be assessed in accordance with temporal probabilistic models. Simulation not only shows behaviour over time, enabling trends, critical conditions and remedial actions to be identified, but can also predict most likely behaviour and the probability of deviating from that behaviour. Hence critical issues such as a the risk of bottlenecks occurring can be assessed and "What if" scenarios considered by benchmarking current `As is" models and making changes to the simulation parameters.

New British Company for Document Management Market

A new British company, Meticulus Solutions Ltd, launched in the UK in January a Document Management System (DMS) provider Meticulist, aimed at small and medium sized firms. Users can visit the Meticulus web site to download a fully functioning demonstration of Meticulist. The demo is timed to offer the functionality of the full product for one month. Users can then purchase online or via the telephone. An ASP version will be available designed for businesses with less than 20 employees. This will allow firms to store documents online, and use the full DMS capabilities of Meticulist without IT spend or training.

The 3D Kernel architecture is based on the standard COM from Microsoft, allowing it to use the languages common on a PC including C++, Visual Basic, VBA, Java, JavaScript together with the power of the geometric functions, particularly in the domain of class A surfaces.
