Managed Objects Extends Channel Sales Strategy to Pursue Middle Market Companies; Leading BSM Vendor Taps Technology and Managed Services Partners in UK; Examines Similar Deals in France, Germany and North America.

MCLEAN, Va. -- Managed Objects, the Business Service Management Company, announced a deal with Xaman Plc. that paves the way for new business in the small and medium enterprise (SME (1) (Small and Medium-sized Enterprise) See SMB.

) technology. Based in London, Xaman currently provides managed services An umbrella term for third-party monitoring and maintaining of computers, networks and software. The actual equipment may be inhouse or at the third-party's facilities, but the "managed" implies an ongoing effort; for example, making sure the equipment is running at a certain quality  to 40 mid-market customers and has implemented Managed Objects BSM software to monitor and manage those services.

Managed Objects teamed with Project X Technologies (PXTI), a privately owned enterprise, which develops agent-less systems management software, to provide a tailored solution for Xaman. The solution developed for Xaman replaces the competitive solution it was using previously. PXTI's software performs traditional systems management functions such as server management and monitoring, while Managed Objects' BSM technology leverages its extensive integration capabilities to correlate and reconcile that data with other sources of systems management information onto a single console.

"Managed Objects provides remarkable custom integration that allows Xaman to centrally consolidate and visualise disparate systems management information centrally," said Ian Williams Ian Williams (born 1970 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania) is an American rock guitarist.

Williams is most well known for his unique approach to finger tapping on guitar and utilizing two Akai Headrush guitar pedals.
, chief technology officer at Xaman. "The net effect is an efficient, scalable and cost-effective way to manage the IT services Xaman delivers to customers and we have already seen an improvement in the quality of service to our customers."

Managed Objects' traditional customer base consists of large enterprises such as the Global 2000 companies, and it has numerous partnerships of a similar nature with major systems integrators including Computer Sciences Corporation, Accenture and Fujitsu. Today's announcement marks the first deal with a service provider catering specifically to the mid-market and Managed Objects is actively exploring similar opportunities in France, Germany and the North America.

"Xaman's adoption of BSM technology demonstrates innovative thinking and adaptability - prerequisites for success amid an increasingly competitive environment in providing outsourced services to mid-market customers," said Sean Larner, general manager for Managed Objects' European Operations. "There is a sizable market opportunity for Managed Objects in the mid-market space and our agreement with Xaman provides us with an entirely new channel to reach that market."

Though financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, Xaman will pay Managed Objects on a subscription model which will grow in size as Xaman adds new customers to its client roster.
