ManTech Awarded $12.9 Million, Shipboard Advanced Radar Target Identification Systems --SARTIS-- Contract from the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division.

Five-Year Contract Will Provide Engineering and Technical Support for Combat Identification and Air Traffic Control Systems

ManTech International Corporation (Nasdaq:MANT), a leading provider of innovative technologies and solutions focused on mission-critical national security programs for the Intelligence Community, the Department of Defense and other federal government customers announced today that it has been awarded a contract from the U.S. Naval Air Warfare Center The Naval Air Warfare Center was a former U.S. Navy military installation located in Warminster, Pennsylvania and Ivyland, Pennsylvania.

The U.S. Navy purchased the grounds to establish this facility from the Brewster Aeronautical Corporation following its bankruptcy in the
 Aircraft Division (NAWCAD NAWCAD Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division ), to provide engineering and technical services for non-cooperative target recognition, non-cooperative target identification, and other combat identification and air traffic control systems.

NAWCAD is part of the Naval Air Systems Command The Naval Air Systems Command, or NAVAIR, is the part of the United States Navy which provides materiel support for naval aircraft and airborne weapon systems, such as guided missiles. NAVAIR was established in 1966 as the successor to the Navy's Bureau of Naval Weapons (BuWeps).  (NAVAIR NAVAIR Naval Air Systems Command ). It supports the design, development, integration, test and evaluation, installation, fielding, certification, maintenance, and logistics for Navy electronic combat identification equipment, systems and subsystems. This contract will provide engineering and technical services to the NAWCAD Identification Systems Division supporting combat identification and air traffic control systems.
