Man found dead was former teacher.
A man found dead in his Bethel area home on Saturday had worked as a Junction City school teacher for four years before resigning in January.
Aaron Daniel Anderson, 31, taught the first, second and third grades at Laurel Elementary School at various times during his employment, school district spokeswoman Jill Case said Monday. She could not reveal why Anderson resigned, she said.
"We do feel very badly about this," Case said of Anderson's death. "It's a very bad thing."
A neighbor called police shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday to report a loud dispute at 1260 Waite St. in Eugene.
When police arrived they found Anderson dead in the house. Anderson owned the two-bedroom, one-bath house, which he shares with his fiancee, Amber Kay Merrill, 28, and her two daughters, as well as a roommate, Robert Martin Pilaczynski Jr., 42.
Everyone was at the house at the time of Anderson's death, Eugene police Detective Dan Braziel said.
Police are seeking Pilaczynski in connection with the death, which they are treating as a homicide, Braziel said..
"At this point we don't know" how Anderson died, Braziel said.
Detectives also haven't determined exactly what led up to the death, he said.
Anderson graduated from South Eugene High School and earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Oregon. He later earned a master's degree from Pacific University in Eugene.
Pilaczynski is a white male, about 5-foot-11, weighing 190 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen fleeing the Waite Street area on a bicycle.
Police are asking anyone with information about Pilaczynski to contact Braziel at 682-5836.
