BERLIN -- Some of the pilgrims attending this month's World Youth Day in Cologne, Germany almost had to pass a catechism catechism (kăt`əkĭzəm) [Gr.,=oral instruction], originally oral instruction in religion, later written instruction. Catechisms are usually written in the form of questions and answers.  test to attend--one created by the German government. A sample quiz, prepared by the German embassy in Tirana, Albania, was leaked to the German tabloid Bild and included questions such as "When and how did Jesus die?" and "How long did Jesus remain on earth after his Resurrection?"
