Making a grand resort even grander.


What could make The Broadmoor more special than it already is?

How about spending $10.4 million on renovations, adding a signature Polo Ralph Lauren Polo Ralph Lauren (NYSE: RL) is American fashion designer Ralph Lauren's luxury lifestyle company. All of these improvements occurred last spring.

"The Broadmoor continues to build on its reputation as a grand resort hotel," says Perry Goodbar, director of sales. "A convenient blend of modern meeting facilities and gracious accommodations that cannot be found anywhere else. The Broadmoor continues to provide outstanding service and extraordinary dedication."

Improvements made during the renovation included: guest rooms in the North and Southeastmoor buildings receiving new modern bathrooms, furnishings, and decor; the Southlake Suites converted to larger, hospitality suites; the Penrose Suite and Carlton Suite in the Broadmoor Main receiving $200,000 in upgrades; the addition of a full-service salon providing hair care, hair-care products, manicures, pedicures, waxing, and facials; a women's shoe store and upscale women's clothier and dress shop were added in addition to the Polo Ralph Lauren store; and the Penrose Room and lounge receiving completely new looks.

The 18,000-square-foot Colorado Hall exhibit center includes a welcoming entry lobby, exhibitor's lounge, moveable platform stage, and rear-projection screens. The adjacent Broadmoor International Centers adds to these meeting capabilities with 16,000 square feet of column-free meeting, exhibit, or dining space. A 100[feet] x 40[feet] stage with hydraulic-lift orchestra pit allows you to produce a Broadway show during your meeting.

Rooms and suites are refurbished around existing antiques and original works of art. The Broadmoor staffs two or more employees for each guest room. "The old-world charm of the sculptured ground and luminous buildings, lavish accommodations, and complete meeting facilities cannot be overlooked when planning a convention with something extra," says Goodbar.

Custom events, such as a western buffet at Cheyenne Lodge, poolside galas, theme parties, and banquets can be designed to your specifications.

Off-property venues that offer nearby function space are Cheyenne Ridge, Pikes Peak International Speedway, The World Arena and Ice Hall, Fine Arts Center, and United States Air Force Academy United States Air Force Academy, at Colorado Springs, Colo.; for training young men and women to be officers in the U.S. air force; authorized in 1954 by Congress. .

It overlooks the Broadmoor Hotel and from the tower one can see the entire Colorado Springs metropolitan area and Garden of the Gods. , historical gold camps and mining towns, and Garden of the Gods are all within driving distance.
