Makedonski Telekomunikacii Chooses Geneva for Rating and Billing of All Business and Residential Wireline Services.

Geneva selected to drive the fast introduction of new services

involving innovative business models and flexible tariffs

Convergys Corporation (NYSE:CVG), the global leader in integrated billing, employee care, and customer care services, today announced that Makedonski Telekomunikacii has signed a contract to migrate its more than 500,000 subscribers to Geneva (tm), Convergys' award-winning rating and billing software. Geneva will support Makedonski Telekomunikacii's wireline, data, and voice services, and provide national and international interconnect settlement.

The selection of Geneva by Makedonski Telekomunikacii, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom AG via MATAV Hungarian Telecommunications Ltd., is an important part of the company's planned program to improve and expand its service portfolio. Makedonski Telekomunikacii was looking for a system that would allow new services to be brought to market quickly. Using Convergys' Geneva software will allow the company to introduce competitive new service packages with flexible tariffs that can, for example, involve cross-product discounting.

The recent successful implementation of Geneva at Slovenske Telekomunikacie in 10 weeks demonstrated to Makedonski that Geneva could be implemented quickly in a market that shares some common characteristics. Of the more than 80 Geneva installations around the world, many were implemented in less than three months.

Accenture will perform the systems integration work for the project, which is planned to go into live operation in early 2003. Convergys' Geneva software, which in this instance will run on HP hardware, will be integrated with a third-party mediation application to replace the Macedonian carrier's existing legacy system.
