Make a star of David.

The Star of David is a symbol for Jews around the world. For your Hanukkah party, make this six-painted star.

YOU WILL NEED:

Scissors

Colored paper

Pencil

Ruler

Glue or tape

String

DIRECTIONS:

1. Cut twelve narrow, eleven-inch strips of colored paper.

2. Mark off a small section at one end of each strip with a pencil; see X in figure A. This will be the tab.

3. Divide the remaining strip into three equal sections as shown in figure A.

4. Fold each strip to form a triangle with the tab overlapping. Glue or tape the tabs in place.

5. Glue three triangles together, side by side, to form a row as in figure C. Make a second row and glue the two rows together along their longest sides.

6. Glue a triangle to each side of the shape as shown in figure D.

7. Punch two holes, one opposite the other, through the point of one triangle.

8. Knot a length of string into the holes. Hang the star.
