Majestic Realty Foundation Co-Hosts Open House at Para Los Ninos.

ONTARIO, Calif. -- Para Los Ninos, The Majestic Realty Foundation and San Bernardino County Supervisor Gary Ovitt joined forces today to host a special open house for local business and community leaders at the Para Los Ninos Child Development Center, 1200 N. Baker Ave.

Calling the center "one of Ontario's best kept secrets," Supervisor Ovitt said he hoped the open house would encourage local leaders to support the work of Para Los Ninos in the Inland Empire.

"If we have it our way, Para Los Ninos shall remain a secret no longer," the Supervisor added as he invited local leaders to tour the facility, which prepares children aged six weeks through five years for elementary school and beyond.

Para Los Ninos opened its Child Development Center in Ontario in 2001, explained Miki Jordan, president and CEO of the nationally accredited nonprofit agency. At the time it opened, the area had no nonprofit child care providers, and no other agency utilized Para Los Ninos' wall-to-wall service model that benefits the entire family.

"Our Ontario Child Development Center provides nurturing childcare, early childhood education and enrichment activities to 216 children ages 6 weeks to 5 years," Jordan said. "Children participate in activities that promote their social, emotional, cognitive, language, creative and physical development and ensure that they attain the skills necessary to enter kindergarten well prepared."

The center also provides health care, counseling, and nutritious meals and snacks, as well as a wide array of other support services for children and their parents.

"I am fully supportive of Para Los Ninos and the services it provides Ontario families," said Fran Inman, president of the Majestic Realty Foundation, which is a long-time supporter of the organization.

"We can only build sustainable communities by investing in educated and healthy families, which means investing in successful business models like Para Los Ninos that already have effective, efficient and results-oriented infrastructures in place to provide educational services to low-income families."

Attendees at today's open house included State Assemblymember Joe Baca, Jr. and Ontario Mayor Paul Leon, as well as representatives for Congressmember Joe Baca, State Senator Nell Soto and Assemblymember Gloria Negrete McLeod. Also present were Paul Smiley, president and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and Linda Miranda of the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, as well as representatives of First 5 San Bernardino, the Inland Empire United Way, the Salvation Army, the Montclair Community Collaborative, the Family Solutions Collaborative, Kids Come First, Citizens Business Bank, Foothill Community Bank and Wells Fargo.
