Maintain today and tomorrow.

A new Cots-based, wireless Mobile Computing System (WMCS) for network-centric, predictive telemaintenance is available from L3 Communications' Interstate Electronics subsidiary. The WMCS is a multifunctional integrated computer and display with multi-mode wireless communications capabilities that service telemaintenance and remote control applications. The system was designed to interface with the US Army's Diagnostic Improvement programme and be scalable to today's and future Objective Force Condition-Based maintenance initiatives. An integrated vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-central maintenance communications architecture supports two-way wireless interaction and provides for predictive telemaintenance for many applications, including tanks, mobile generators, mobile missile launchers, personnel carriers, multipurpose support vehicles as well as on-highway trucks and critical non-combat vehicles.
