Every now and then, a magazine will establish a forum with its readers that shows intelligence, class, and respect for our state with an educational view. Mississippi Magazine is one of those publications. The writers and the staff should be proud of their articles that have been written about our state. Mississippi Magazine is a class act, and I'm proud to be a loyal subscriber and encourage everyone who reads this wonderful magazine to subscribe if they don't already. God bless you and please keep up the good work.

The article on the Kosciusko Aisle of Honor (Southern Scrapbook A Macintosh disk file that holds frequently used text and graphics objects, such as a company letterhead. Contrast with "clipboard," which is reserved memory that holds data only for the current session. , November/December) was written and sent in by my sister, Jeanne Gordon of Weir. Her husband, Coyt Gordon, is one of the originators of this very beautiful and patriotic event which involves all the veterans of Attala County. I will treasure this issue, for my beloved sister died of cancer on October 9; ironically, she missed the publication of her article by one month. It was so very important to her; nonetheless, the honor she wanted for her husband and his fellow veterans is deeply appreciated by them and me. Somehow, its posthumous post·hu·mous

I was born in Hazlehurst 84 years ago. I live in a retirement community in Belmont, California Belmont is a city in San Mateo County, California, United States. It is a small suburb in the San Francisco Bay Area, located half-way down the San Francisco Peninsula between San Mateo and San Carlos. The population was 25,123 at the 2000 census. , near my daughter. I enjoy Mississippi Magazine. In the November/December issue, the table decoration interested me ("Turkey Talk"). I shared the pictures with our chef. He used the idea to decorate our Thanksgiving buffet table and dining room tables. The tables looked more spectacular than this picture!

When I visited my daughter in Mississippi for Christmas, she had a copy of your September/October 2002 issue on my bedside table bedside table bed ntable f de chevet . I was thrilled to see the Port Gibson Presbyterian Church on the cover. I attended the church for many years.

I would like to subscribe--it is a wonderful magazine. Even though I live in Colorado now, part of my heart is still in Mississippi!

Edgewater, Colorado Edgewater is a city in Jefferson County. Edgewater is an inner city neighborhood located in the northwest side of Denver Colorado, United States. As of 2005, the city is estimated to have a total population of 5,211.

As always, I enjoy my Mississippi Magazine. As I was reading the current issue and the article by Forrest L. Cooper about Washington County Washington County is the name of 30 counties and one parish in the United States of America, all named for George Washington. It is the most common county name in the United States.  ("Washington: The Most Honorable Name," January/February), I want to make a correction about who the town of Hollandale is named for. My great-grandfather on the maternal side of my family was Dr. Thomas Walter Holland, and Hollandale gained its name from him, not a Dr. David Holland as was printed in the article. Thank you for making this correction in print.

Mr. Cooper writes: I am always interested in the truth. However, the truth is often elusive due to the sources available. My source for the origin of Hollandale's name was Hometown home·town
