Magsi, Gailoo launch schemes due to apathy of Sardar Rind; BHC told.

QUETTA, 20 May , 2009 (Balochistan Times) -- Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi and Finance Minister Asim Kurd Gailu released funds for executing development schemes under Public Representative Programme (PRP) 2008-09 due to apparent apathy of MPA Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind in his constituency PB-31 Bolan. This was stated in reply submitted by chief section planning and development (P&D) department, Ghaus Bakhsh Marri, before a division bench of Balochistan High Court, on behalf of the provincial chief secretary and secretary P&D to whom the court had issued notices to submit parawise comments on the petition of Sardar Rind. The report further stated that the government had circulated the criteria copies to all MPAs to identify and submit their schemes under BRP 2008-09 by August 30, 2008 in their respective constituencies, but Sardar Rind failed to comply with the criteria following which the Governor, Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani and the Finance Minister identified the development schemes as the people the constituency might not be deprived due to negligence of Sardar Rind. The bench comprising Justices Ahmed Khan Lashari and Mehta Kailash Nath Kohli was hearing constitutional petition filed by the only opposition member in Balochistan Assembly Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind on April 27 last. The petitioner stated that he could not attend the proceedings of the assembly due to inimical situation as certain members of the house sitting in the provincial government were not happy with him due to which they instead of entertaining the schemes being carried out under PRP 2008-09 amounting Rs70 million, the same had been substituted to others unknown to the petitioner, in his constituency PB-31 Bolan-II. He pleaded to the court to declare that the petitioner himself was entitled to identify his development schemes under PRP during his tenure, and order the official respondents to examine the schemes which had been identified and submitted by him and commence work over them. The next hearing of the case will be held on August 5 next.
