), through its Business Media Asia unit, has begun the publication of "Contract China," a new publication focused on commercial interior design and architecture. It is a brand extension of VNU's "Contract" magazine, a monthly U.S. title that covers the practice and process of commercial design. It is VNU's first launch for the Chinese market and is being published in English and simplified Chinese.

The new magazine will be published three times in 2006 and six times a year beginning in 2007. It has a controlled circulation of 17,500 professionals at China's largest national and regional architectural and design firms, as well as to senior management at Fortune 500 companies operating in China and the Fortune Top 100 Chinese companies Chinese owned companies can be defined as enterprises within mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and the Republic of China (Taiwan):

VNU said the title features a range of case studies of international and regional projects "that can offer Chinese designers the insight and wisdom of their peers from an international perspective." Editorial focuses on how interior design can positively impact the corporate, retail, educational, hospitality, government and institutional markets.
