I have just finished reading the latest issue of Insight and how grateful I am to you all for continuing to cast a bright light on the dark issues of our day and show them for what they truly are. I am reminded of the story of the frog that will quickly jump out of a pot of boiling water but when placed in normal water, which is then slowly heated up, will not recognize the heat and slowly die. How true that little parable is for us who can fail to see what is really happening all around us until it may be too late. So thank you for helping us all to notice the 'temperature' of our culture.

An observation I had after finishing this edition of Insight was that I felt a heaviness in my spirit. There is so much darkness all around us but surely there is light as well. I would suggest that as readers of Insight we need messages of hope as well. There are so many heroes of our Catholic faith working quietly and persistently to be salt and light for the world. Please balance your articles with some salt and light. We need that as well. God bless you all at Catholic Insight and thank you so much for being there.
