Under MGE's leadership, Wisconsin passed landmark legislation that allowed utility companies to spin off their transmission assets into an independent company. In May, MGE announced it was joining the Midwest Independent System Operator, an organization of Midwest utilities that oversees the regional transmission market. The ATC creates another layer of independence.
