Made In Detroit Files Complaint Against the United States.

DETROIT -- Claims Government Through the Totality of Its Conduct Prevented Made In Detroit from Developing Its Property Which Caused MID Serious Financial Losses Including the Loss of the Property Itself Through a Takings for Public Use without Just Compensation

Made In Detroit has filed a lawsuit in the U.S. Court of Claims against the United States and its agencies including, without limitation the United States Army Corps of Engineers, (USACE), The Environmental Protection Agency, (EPA), The Department of The Interior, (DOI), and the Fish and Wildlife Service, (FWS). MID filed this complaint under the jurisdiction of the Tucker Act, 28 U.S.C. SS 1491(a) (1), and seeks compensation pursuant to the Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution.

"The totality of the facts clearly demonstrates that the Government prevented, through its denials, delays, and threats, any economically viable use of MID's property. The facts also show that the Government agencies targeted MID's land for preservation, while at the same time recommending the denial of a permit to develop the property. The Government's overall goal was to preserve the property by obtaining ownership of the property, which could only be accomplished by denying any reasonably viable development of the property," said Ronald E.
