Macworld Magazine Ranks Boca Research No. 1 for 56K Fax/Modem; Global Village TelePort Product Wins Editors' Choice for Second Year.

BOCA RATON Boca Raton (bō`kə rətōn`), city (1990 pop. 61,492), Palm Beach co., SE Fla., on the Atlantic; inc. 1925. Boca Raton is a popular resort and retirement community that experienced significant industrial development in the 1970s and 80s. , Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 6, 1999--Boca Research, Inc. (Nasdaq:BOCI BOCI Bank of China International

) announced today that the TelePort(tm) 56K Fax/Modem again has beaten all the competitors to retain the "Editors' Choice" crown in this year's modem competition by Macworld(R) magazine in the May 1999 issue. Compared with four other competitive products, Macworld declared the TelePort 56K Fax/Modem as the best Macintosh(R) fax/modem, demonstrating speed with excellent Mac(R)-friendly software and support. This indicates that Macworld continues to observe and honor Global Village's(R) dedication towards the Macintosh platform. Last year (Macworld, April 1998 issue, "The Modem Showdown"), the TelePort 56K Fax/Modem (x2) won the "Editors' Choice" award. The TelePort family of communications devices has been the No. 1-selling Macintosh modem since 1989.

Since Macworld laboratory testing found that all new V.90 fax/modems performed "comparably" and "virtually identical when sending data," heavy emphasis was placed on the quality of post-purchase product support and bundled software (1) Applications that are included with new hardware. For example, a new PC often comes with several applications, many of which may be light versions or full versions with no limit on usage. Others may be only 60- or 90-day trial packages. See bundle. . The editors at Macworld stated that the Global Village technical support department "excelled at Mac-orientated service." Macworld also described the departments service as a "Macintosh-savvy support staff and Mac-centric Internet connectivity assistance." Macworld editors acclaimed the TelePort 56K Fax/Modem's bundled faxing software GlobalFax(tm) as the most "user-friendly, powerful, and convenient to operate." Provided in every Global Village Macintosh product since 1989, the award-winning GlobalFax software is known worldwide for its robust interface and numerous features that make faxing simple and fast on the Macintosh.

"We love and appreciate these awards," said Henri Berger Henri Berger (August 4, 1844, Berlin – October 14, 1929, Honolulu) was a composer and royal bandmaster of the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi from 1872 to his death. , lead Macintosh software This list of Macintosh software reveals prominent Mac OS computer programs.
