Once the first murder was committed on page 46, I couldn't put this down. Any student who loves a good mystery with plenty of suspects will love this second book in a series. Maclean's decision to tell the story in Louisa May Alcott's voice made me forget at times that this wasn't an autobiography autobiography: see biography.

Biography of oneself narrated by oneself. Little autobiographical literature exists from antiquity and the Middle Ages; with a handful of exceptions, the form begins to appear only in the 15th century.

I most appreciated the way in which Louisa views the world through a writer's eye, gleaning Harvesting for free distribution to the needy, or for donation to a nonprofit organization for ultimate distribution to the needy, an agricultural crop that has been donated by the owner.  inspiration for future characters in Little Women. Her keen observations of nature, people, and a crumbling grave marker demonstrate how writers find inspiration for their stories everywhere. Besides using her vacation time in New Hampshire New Hampshire, one of the New England states of the NE United States. It is bordered by Massachusetts (S), Vermont, with the Connecticut R. forming the boundary (W), the Canadian province of Quebec (NW), and Maine and a short strip of the Atlantic Ocean (E).  with her family and close friend as inspiration for her writing, Alcott also helps to solve three murders.
