Mackie Designs announces new professional audio products.


WOODINVILLE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 7, 1996--Mackie Designs, a designer and manufacturer of professional audio equipment, has announced the company's newest audio products at the Audio Engineering Show in Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. .

The Fast Recovery Series (FR Series) M-1200 premium power amplifier Power amplifier

The final stage in multistage amplifiers, such as audio amplifiers and radio transmitters, designed to deliver appreciable power to the load.
 was previewed as a prototype at the Summer National Association of Music Merchants Show in July 1996. The M-1200 power amplifier retains exceptional sound quality when pushed to extreme levels, and includes numerous features that are often add-ons for amplifiers currently on the market.

Uses for this product are diverse, including private and touring sound reinforcement systems A sound reinforcement system is an arrangement of microphones, electronic signal processors, amplifiers, and loudspeakers that makes live or pre-recorded sounds—usually music or speech— louder, or which distributes the sound to a larger or more distant audience. , regional sound reinforcement rentals, permanent industrial and commercial installations, DJ/dance systems, recording studios, and theater/cinema and broadcast facilities. It is planned for release fourth quarter of 1996.

Mackie has announced the newest members of the Fast Recovery Series, the M-1400 and M-2400 amplifiers. The M-1400 power amplifier is designed primarily for the industrial and international markets, with more power than the M-1200. The M-2400 power amplifier has twice the power capabilities of the M-1400, and is specifically designed for the high-powered output needs of all domestic and international markets.

The new Mackie Designs HR824 High-Resolution Active Studio Reference Monitor is designed to be one of the most accurate near-field monitors available. This product has built-in power amplifiers using FR Amplifier technology and is designed for recording studio environments that require very accurate reproductions of sound. The HR824 is planned for December 1996.

Mackie Designs has developed and designed a Human User Interface (HUI) Digital Audio Workstation A digital audio workstation (DAW) is a system designed to record, edit and play back digital audio. A key feature of DAWs is the ability to freely manipulate recorded sounds, much like a word processor manipulates typed words.  Control to be used for mixing with Digidesign's ProTools 4.0 DAW. This system will eventually be compatible with other Digital Audio Workstations.

This product provides an ergonomic ergonomic - Concerning ergonomics or exhibitting good ergonimics. , human interface to Digital Audio Workstations with a control surface similar to that of a mixer. It will simplify and enhance the functions and features of DAWs by providing control and ease of use for professionals in the video and film post-production, multimedia, and recording markets. The HUI is targeted for Winter 1997.
