Mack-Cali sponsors White Plains 5K.

Mack-Cali Realty Corporation was the sponsor of the 1999 Mack-Cali/White Plains 5K Race and 1-mile Fun Walk held in downtown White Plains last month. Approximately 200 walkers and runners between the ages of 8 and 80 participated in the event, which is in its second year and was sponsored by Mack-Cali, the White Plains Parks and Recreation Department, and the Westchester Road Runners Club.

The White Plains 5K is part of a celebration of downtown White Plains and a recreation initiative encouraged by the city. Proceeds from the race were donated to White Plains Hospital Center.

White Plains mayor Joseph Delfino, MackCali Realty Corporation vice-president's Greg Berger and Michael Grossman and White Plains Hospital Center director of Community Relations, Karen Bunis Lombardi, were at the starting and finishing lines to award the winners in each class.

For the second year, Alan Wells of New York City was the overall race winner and male winner with a time of 16:07, 41 seconds faster than his 1998 time. The overall female winner was Nicole Boykin of White Plains, New York with a time of 19:44.

Mack-Cali, which frequently sponsors local community events, owns and manages approximately 800,000 square feet of commercial and residential space in downtown White Plains.
