MacAddict Magazine Surpasses Macworld Magazine in Consumer Newsstand Spending.

BRISBANE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 3, 1998--After only two years of publishing, MacAddict magazine, published by Imagine Media, is experiencing higher consumer newsstand spending than the 14-year-old Macworld magazine.

The recently published June 1998 Publisher's Statement for Macworld magazine reflects an 18 percent decrease in single-copy sales (consumer newsstand sales), from an average 97,823 copies on the December 1997 statement down to 80,089 copies on the June 1998 statement.

Single-copy sales of MacAddict have remained consistent, with an average of 51,742 copies per issue being purchased from the January 1998 period to the June 1998 period. With a $7.99 newsstand price (including an editorially driven CD-ROM), the average single-copy sales of MacAddict for the latest period reflects consumer sales of $413,423.

With its decline in consumer newsstand spending, Macworld magazine, which sells for $4.99 per issue, comes in with an average of $399,644 in consumer newsstand spending. These figures clearly reflect MacAddict's $13,799 average lead over Macworld for the same January 1998 to June 1998 period.
