MX Logic Supports National Cyber Security Awareness Month to Educate Businesses on Internet Safety and Security.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- MX Logic Inc, a leading managed security services provider of email and Web defense solutions, announced today that they will join the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) to actively promote awareness of Internet safety and security issues in conjunction with National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) during the month of October.

Each year, the National Cyber Security Division of the Department of Homeland Security joins with NCSA, the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center and other partners to support NCSAM. A national campaign, NCSAM is focused on educating the American public, businesses, schools and government agencies about ways to secure their part of cyber space, their computers and our nation's critical infrastructure.

As email use continues to increase, cyber criminals use phishing emails, video downloads, email attachments and links in unsolicited emails to gain entry into computers to steal sensitive, private information and potentially funds from accounts. As a leader of managed email and Web security, MX Logic will work with NCSA during NCSAM to not only advocate the importance of implementing strong, reliable security services but to also spotlight the importance of end user education.

Teaching employees how to detect and avoid malicious emails while promoting safe online habits will go further to prevent a cyber attack. NCSAM has outlined these simple tips for Internet users to consider:

* When using Web 2.0 services, make sure you do not post or give out sensitive personal information - think of these new Internet services as "the world's largest billboard" - anyone can view or use the information you post on the Internet.

* Do not trust everyone you meet online; be wary of sharing or downloading files with unknown sources.

* Do not respond to unsolicited emails or Instant Messages, click on links or download attachments contained within them.

* Ask financial institutions and other organizations with which you entrust your money what security they have in place to protect your identity and your assets and make sure you take advantage of stronger protection.

* If you suspect you are a victim of identity theft, immediately contact your local police department. Also, file a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center or the Federal Trade Commission. Complaints are used to guide law enforcement investigations and catalog new cyber crime trends that could help identify online crime waves and get the word out to other consumers.
