AMBER, The Hits Remixed (Tommy Boy) Undeniably one of the most queer-friendly divas of clubland, Amber's new 14-track remix album capitalizes on her seemingly never-ending string of dance him. Offering mostly edited versions of previously hard-to-find remixes, this disc includes her current feel-good club anthem "Love One Another" as well as "Taste the Tears," her contribution to HBO's Sex and the City soundtrack.

GRANT KING, Bodies of Water (Know More Secrets) Up-and-coming New York singer-songwriter Grant King sings gorgeous pop-folk love songs with an honesty and passion seldom heard. This sophomore effort features 10 romantic confessionals composed mostly on acoustic guitar and piano.

DORIA ROBERTS, Radio Doria (Hurricane Doria Records) It's been a busy year for artist-activist Doria Roberts, including a Gay/ Lesbian American Music Awards nomination, rousing performances at the Millennium March on Washington, and the fifth anniversary of her now-touring Queerstock festival. As if that's not enough, Roberts is releasing an EP (on Election Day, of course) of "political songs with a heart," as she calls it, that's bound to provoke your mind while stirring your heart with her unique blend of R&B-laced folk.

DAVE HALL, True (Giuseppe Joe Records) Dave Hall has been carving out a niche in the indie-alternative scene for years, and with True, his third album, he reaches an all-time high. A bit of a departure for the pop-rocker, True is largely an acoustic album, with piano, guitar, and strings serving as the bed for Hall's rich vocals and well-crafted, insightful lyrics.

JOI CARDWELL, Superstar EP (No-Mad Industries) Cardwell treads lonely territory as one of clubland's few out lesbian divas, but it's her amazing voice and songwriting skills, not her sexuality, that repeatedly propel her up the club charts. This perfect stocking stuffer includes six mixes of her most recent smash, "Superstar" (a Carpenters cover), plus three bonus tracks: her award-winning "Last Chance for Love," a millennial mix of "Jump for Joi," and the original version of her classic "Trouble."
