Choirs from the two high schools joined singers from three colleges in a 250-member chorale chorale (kōrăl`, –räl`), any of the traditional hymns of the German Protestant Church. The form was developed after the Reformation to replace the plainsong of the earlier service and as a means of congregational participation in  that performed Mozart's Requiem at the renowned concert hall on March 24. The Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  students were invited to join the chorale because of their excellent reputation gained in Southern California music festivals.

Choir members and their parents raised funds for the trip, and community officials added a city grant.
