MUSIC PLUS DANCING BACH, STRAVINSKY WORKS TO BE GIVEN CONCERT SPOTLIGHT.

LANCASTER - Five young musicians from all around Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  - and even from the Ukraine and South Korea - will perform selections by Johann Sebastian Bach with the Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region.   • Heinrich Biber (1644–1704)
  • Arcangelo Corelli (1653–1713)
 Alex Yeh, 11, and Ukranian native Myroslava Khomik, 18, and pianists Teresa Liu, 17, Jade Tsai, 20, and Korean-born Kelsey Chung, 10, won the orchestra's fourth annual Bach competition.

The young musicians will perform at 7:15 p.m. Saturday at the Lancaster Performing Arts Center A performing arts center, often abbreviated PAC, is a multi-use performance space that can be adapted for use by various types of the performing arts, including dance, music and theatre.  before a performance by the Antelope Valley Ballet with the same orchestra.

The orchestra's concert, ``Bach to Ballet,'' will feature Igor Stravinsky's ``The Rite of Spring'' after the Bach selections. Stravinsky's 1913 work is often viewed as the extraordinary entry of dance into the modern world.

David Newby will direct the symphony, with Kathleen Burnett directing the dance interpretation.

The performing arts center is at 750 W. Lancaster Blvd. Tickets to the performance are $18 for general admission, $16 for seniors and $9 for children. For more information call (661) 723-5950.
