MUSEUM HOSTS AREA PHOTOGRAPHERS.

Byline: Daily News

LANCASTER - More than 120 photographs by 25 photographers are on display at the Lancaster Museum/Art Gallery in ``Moments in Time - Featuring Photographs by Members of the Lancaster Photography Association.''

Included are photos of deserts, glaciers, birds, Europe, animals, architecture, people and yachting. Some of the photos are taken digitally and some the old-fashioned way - with film.

Norma Gurba, curator for the museum/art gallery, said the question of whether or not photography is a fine art often comes up during these types of exhibits.

``There is a lot of work involved in taking the photos. They (critics) don't realize getting just the right view, how hard it is. Good photographers make it look easy,'' said Gurba as she pointed out the movement in a sailing yacht photo, compared with the serenity of a park-like scene. ``You really can feel the difference in them.''

The exhibit opened Saturday and runs through Nov. 28 at the gallery.

The Lancaster Photography Association was formed during the 1960s by a group of regional photographers. It provides scholarships, organizes the photo exhibit at the annual Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region.
