Boroff, 48, is an office manager for a business in Kramer Junction. She ran in the November 2004 election but did not get elected.

``I enjoyed working on the board,'' Boroff said. ``I foresee the board has lot of big issues coming before it on the budgetary side. We continue with growth of the Boron area, and I want to make sure the future of the children of the community are addressed, not just in Boron but also (Edwards Air Force) Base children.'' Boroff said.

Boroff has four children in the Muroc district, and one who had graduated.

Ford could not be reached for comment.

Evans resigned April 5 because of ill health. He died April 16.

Evans, who held one of the two trustee seats designated for the community of Boron, was serving his second term, which ends this year.

Evans' replacement must serve out the rest of his term and run in the November election to keep the seat.
