G/Comms solution to provide geospatially-enabled network provisioning resource management for Manitoba's leading provider of communications

services

Intergraph Corporation (Nasdaq: INGR) today announced that MTS Communications Inc., a subsidiary of Manitoba Telecom Services, Inc. (MTS) and the leading full-service telecommunications provider for the Canadian Province of Manitoba, has adopted Intergraph's G/Comms solution as their next-generation Geospatial Operations Support System. The new solution will provide an end-to-end geospatial network model for access network facility management, design and analysis. Future integration of the geospatial solution with the company's other business applications will provide opportunities to further automate business processes throughout the enterprise.

As Manitoba's primary service provider, MTS delivers local service across 700,000 access lines. The G/Comms solution is an integral part of MTS's aggressive modernization of their network infrastructure, including the company's significant broadband investments in the province of Manitoba.

According to David Rourke, executive vice president, Operations, MTS Communications Inc., "G/Comms will place MTS's facilities, equipment and structures in a flexible, high-performance database. This information system will provide operating efficiencies as well as significantly improve the speed at which we can deliver service to customers and our ability to leverage the network for increased revenues."

Tailored for the specific workflows of communications companies, G/Comms is a completely open, off-the-shelf solution that will enable MTS Communications to create and maintain a comprehensive geospatial facility model, allowing the company's network management community to more effectively plan, design, implement, monitor and manage all network elements. The net result of the company's investment will be significant cost savings realized from faster planning and build cycles, and higher quality and more reliable service for customers.

Arthur Spencer, vice-president of Intergraph's Customer Services, said, "Intergraph commends MTS for their technology vision. We continue to see our customers significantly benefit from the implementation of Geospatial Operations Support Systems and we look forward to working with MTS to realize their project goals and projected benefits."
