This traumatic brain injury Traumatic brain injury (TBI), traumatic injuries to the brain, also called intracranial injury, or simply head injury, occurs when a sudden trauma causes brain damage. TBI can result from a closed head injury or a penetrating head injury and is one of two subsets of acquired brain  set her life on a different course. An active musician, she believed she might not be able to play the piano or violin again. Weber State University was founded by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as the Weber Stake Academy in 1889; like Weber County and the Weber River,
 in Utah that her life wasn't the same as before, but with personal determination along with support from family, friends and professors, she was able to overcome the brain injury. In years following the accident, Davis has taken a proactive role helping others who have experienced similar injuries. She also has worked to educate the public about brain injuries and prevention methods.

The Miss Utah competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Utah in the Miss America pageant. Utah has twice won the Miss America crown.
 Pageant, then further advanced to the Miss America Scholarship Pageant using "Prevention and Awareness of Brain Injuries" as her platform issue Participation in these contests gave Davis the opportunity to spread her message to other brain injury survivors, as well as teach the public means of prevention.

Recently, Davis was asked to serve as the national spokesperson for the Brain Injury Association of America. In this role, she will speak in various venues across the nation. Following her year of campaigning for the Brain Injury Association of America, she will pursue a master's degree in music.
