MTA Ridership Booming.


More than 50,000 riders boarded the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's new Metro rapid Metro Rapid is a bus rapid transit system in Los Angeles County, California, operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The Rapid program attempts to speed up commuter travel time on Los Angeles' county streets.  bus system along Wilshire and Whittier boulevards in July, making the new express service the agency's most heavily used bus line.

The new high-tech rapid buses make fewer stops and can hold traffic lights on green to speed their movement.
