 MTA ANNOUNCES BUS ROUTE CHANGES FOR JUNE 28-JULY 4
 BALTIMORE, June 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The Mass Transit Administration


(MTA) today announced the following changes in bus routes for the week June 28-July 4.
 No. 11 (Dunkirk) -- A festival will close Springlake Way in the vicinity of the lakes Sunday, June 28, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., temporarily rerouting buses. Northbound buses will travel the regular route to Charles Street and Homeland Avenue, then north on Charles, east on Northern Parkway, north on Springlake Way, then via the regular route. There's no change in southbound service.
 Fourth of July
 -- Buses: Several community parades on Saturday, July 4, will temporarily reroute some bus lines. The Nos. 8 (Towson), 8 (Stella Maris) and 9 (Hunt Valley) will be affected by the Towson Independence Day Parade between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. In Arbutus, the No. 31 will be diverted from noon to 2 p.m. by the community's Fourth of July parade. In Catonsville, buses on the No. 2 line will travel a temporary route from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. because of a parade. And in Dundalk, the Nos. 4 and 20 (Dundalk) will operate on temporary routes between 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. because of the Dundalk Independence Day Parade.
 -- Light Rail: The light rail line will be open on both Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4. Normal operating hours are 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday.
 -- Metro: Metro trains will run Friday, July 3, from 5 a.m. to midnight and on Saturday, July 4, from 8 a.m. to midnight, the regular hours of operation.
 -- MARC: MARC trains on the Brunswick, Camden and Penn Lines will run on a regular schedule on Friday, July 3. They do not operate on Saturdays.
 Continuing Diversion
 Nos. 3 (Sheppard Pratt), 8 (Stella Maris) and 55 -- A farmers' market in Towson every Thursday now through October will close Allegheny Avenue between Washington Avenue and Joppa Road, rerouting buses from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
 -- No. 3 (Sheppard Pratt): When northbound, via the regular route to Joppa Road and Virginia Avenue, then south on Virginia, west on Pennsylvania Avenue, south on Washington, then via the regular route. When southbound, via the regular route to Washington and Chesapeake avenues, then east on Chesapeake, north on Virginia, east on Joppa Road, then via the regular eastbound route.
 -- No. 8 (Stella Maris): When southbound, via the regular route to Dulaney Valley and York roads, then south on York, west on Pennsylvania, south on Washington, then via the regular route. No change in northbound service.
 -- No. 55: When eastbound, via the regular route to Washington and Chesapeake, then east on Chesapeake, north on Virginia, east on Joppa, then via the regular route. When westbound, via the regular route to Joppa and Virginia, then south on Virginia, west on Pennsylvania, south on Washington, then via the regular route.
 No. 23 (Victory Villa) -- Buses are operating on a temporary route because construction has closed Compass Road west of Middle River Road. Westbound buses leave the layover point on Middle River Road at Compass and travel north on Middle River, east on Compass, south on Henderson Road, east on Victoria Road, north on West Hickam Road, west on Compass, south on Middle River, east on Martin Boulevard, then via the regular route. Eastbound service is not affected.
