MRV's High Density 10G Transport Fiber Driver Selected as 2012 World Vendor Award Finalist.

Fiber Driver named finalist for Best Transport Solution and recognized for innovation and excellence in High-Density and Low-Power 10G Transport

CHATSWORTH, Calif. -- MRV Communications[TM], Inc. (OTCQB: MRVC) ("MRV" or the "Company"), a leading provider of optical communications network infrastructure equipment and integration and managed services, today announced its Fiber Driver High-Density 10G Transport Solution was named a 2012 World Vendor Award finalist for Best Transport Solution. MRV's Fiber Driver has been distinguished for its ability to allow service providers, data centers, cloud and content providers, and more to scale the network and efficiently and successfully support and manage the most bandwidth-rich, low latency next-generation services their customers demand.

The World Vendor Awards recognize companies and solutions that are driving innovation in global communications, and the 2012 winners will be announced at a gala dinner on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London. In the Best Transport Solution category, finalists were selected for demonstrating excellence in providing innovative, cost-effective and efficient solutions.

MRV's Fiber Driver delivers the industry's highest density and power efficiency for 10G services, enabling crucial space, power and cooling savings while increasing network scalability and manageability as operators deploy or grow their data center networks. Additionally, the solution extends deployment options, streamlines inventory management, supports the latest high-speed protocols and operates in multiple modes to address the immediate needs of a strained network.

"The ever-increasing demand for network bandwidth has operators struggling to keep up with the reliability and survivability required to support popular, Over-the-Top services. Moreover, they are also facing increased costs in both real estate and power supply," said Zeev Draer, Vice President of Strategic Marketing for MRV's Optical Communications Systems[TM] (OCS) division. "The Fiber Driver addresses these critical pain points by improving functionality in density, power efficiency, ease-of-use, flexibility and provides the cost-effective foundation needed to successfully scale for 10G Metro Transport and deliver revenue-generating services."

MRV will share the outlook on data-center market challenges and solutions in a Light Reading Webinar on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at 12:30 p.m. EST. The educational seminar, titled "Optimizing Telecommunications Links for Data Center Connectivity," will examine how to overcome configuration constraints, achieve greater capacity utilization and lower equipment costs through the implementation of Carrier Ethernet equipment with multiple classes of service.
