MOZART CONCERTO CLARINETIST TO SOLO WITH VALLEY'S SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA.

Clarinetist Geoff Nudell will be the featured soloist in the next concert by the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

Valley, southern California, U.S. Northwest of central Los Angeles, the valley is bounded by the San Gabriel, Santa Susana, and Santa Monica mountains and the Simi Hills.
 Symphony Orchestra at 8 p.m. March 4.

He will perform Mozart's clarinet concerto.

Nudell studied at the Grove School of Music and California State University, Northridge CSUN offers a variety of programs leading to bachelor's degrees in 61 fields and master's degrees in 42 fields. The university has over 150,000 alumni. It's also home to a summer musical theater/theater program known as TADW (TeenAge Drama Workshop) that leads teenagers through an . As a professional musician, he has played, toured or recorded with Frankie Avalon, Tony Bennett, Carol Burnett, Cab Calloway, Johnny Crawford, Fleetwood Mac, Peggy Lee, Liza Minnelli, Rita Moreno, Frederica von Stade Frederica von Stade (June 1, 1945), is an American mezzo-soprano. Born in Somerville, New Jersey, she acquired the nickname Flicka in her childhood. Miss von Stade attended the Mannes College of Music in New York City. , Leslie Uggams and Ian Whitcomb.

Nudell also has performed as a theater musician in pit orchestras for ``Beauty and the Beast Beauty and the Beast is a traditional fairy tale (type 425C -- search for a lost husband -- in the Aarne-Thompson classification). The first published version of the fairy tale was a meandering rendition by Madame Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve, published in ,'' ``Chicago,'' ``Fosse,'' ``Showboat,'' ``Swan Lake,'' ``The Last Empress'' and ``Phantom of the Opera.''

He is principal clarinetist with the San Fernando Valley Symphony Orchestra and can be seen performing around Los Angeles with a swing band, Mora's Modern Rhythmists. He is also on the music faculty at CSUN as a woodwinds instructor.

At the March 4 concert, the San Fernando Valley Symphony Orchestra also will perform Schubert's Symphony No. 9 in C Major.

The concert will be at the Pierce College Performing Arts Theater.
