 Institute for Research and Therapy at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is part of the University of Arkansas System, a state-run university in the U.S. state of Arkansas. The main campus is located in Little Rock.  in Little Rock. The institute is the world's only facility dedicated to multiple myeloma research.

The Yellville Volunteer Fire Dept. received a grant from the South Shore Foundation for rescue equipment. The department purchased an automatic defibrillator defibrillator, device that delivers an electrical shock to the heart in order to stop certain forms of rapid heart rhythm disturbances (arrhythmias).
