MOTOROLA JOINS THE OPEN GROUP AS A PLATINUM SPONSOR.

Motorola will contribute immediately to The Open Group as a co-founder of the Emerging Technologies Pillar pillar, freestanding columnar supporting member. It is a general term, little used as an exact architectural definition except as applied to an upright support in the medieval styles, consisting of an assemblage of juxtaposed shafts and moldings; unlike the column,  and as a co-sponsor of the Mobile Commerce 2000 Conference being held in London.

As a Platinum sponsor, Motorola will be joining The Open Group's Governing Board Noun 1. governing board - a board that manages the affairs of an institution

 and will help direct the overall strategy and vision of the organization. The Pillar, co-founded with several other industry leaders, will initially focus on the interoperability of wireless and mobile technology and other new technologies and standards and their impact on the enterprise.
