With a number of drivers concerned about running out of the fuel even before the extra laps, including Sadler, the race was extended even longer when Michael Waltrip ran into the back of Robby Gordon on lap 303.

The last restart finally came on lap 307. By that time, both rookie Denny Hamlin and Carl Edwards had moved past Sadler, but Busch easily pulled away from the challengers in the two-lap sprint to the finish.

Kanke's record to never be broken: M.K. Kanke became the winningest driver in NASCAR Elite Division, Southwest Series, history on Saturday night. And no one will ever be able to catch him.

Kanke, a Kennedy High of Granada Hills graduate, won the AutoZone 100 at Stockton 99 Speedway, taking the lead on the third lap and never looking back.

It was the 22nd victory of his career and his second of the season.

He passed Rick Carelli, who won 21 Southwest Series in his career.

``I love racing these short tracks,'' said Kanke, a driver from Frazier Park. ``I started the year really wanting to win at Altamont, Stockton and Phoenix. We have accomplished two of the three and we are pretty excited about the rest of the season.''

This is the last season of Southwest Series competition. NASCAR is eliminating the Elite Division from its developmental system at the conclusion of this season.
