MOTHERHOOD KEEPS KUDROW OUT OF THE MOVIEGOING LOOP.

Lisa Kudrow, who hosts the June 10 MTV Movie Awards, says she couldn't have fairly taken part in the voting that includes prizes for such unconventional categories as best kiss and best villain.

``I am a sucker for kissing scenes - even the bad ones to me seem hot. But I simply don't see many movies now with a year-old son.'' Of the films that have garnered the most nominations on this year's list, chosen through a national poll of MTV viewers, she notes, ``I did see `Shakespeare in Love' and `There's Something About Mary,' but there's no way I could see `Saving Private Ryan' since I had a baby - a film about getting a son back to his mother. I couldn't have handled it. I think motherhood is going to limit my moviegoing a lot.''

And her social life in general.

She reports that she and her husband, advertising exec Michel Stern, go to sleep at the same time their son, Julian, is put down for the night, ``about 8 p.m.'' Not only, she says, ``don't we go to movies, we don't rent them - who has two hours of leisure?''

The ``Friends'' star is just wrapping up shooting of the big-screen ``Hanging Up'' with Meg Ryan and Diane Keaton and expects to spend her summer hiatus ``at a Mommy and Me class, at swimming class with the baby - and checking out preschools for him. I'm told I am already starting late to check out schools - even though he won't be ready to attend for maybe two years.''

Annie get your Tony

Bernadette Peters minces no words: ``To be perfectly honest, I want us to win.'' She's talking about Sunday night's Tonys - for which she, co-star Tom Wopat and their ``Annie Get Your Gun'' musical are all up for awards. She feels Carolee Carmello from the now-closed ``Parade'' will likely be her greatest competition. And she says candidly, ``The Tonys definitely help box office - that's one of the main reasons I want to win.''

She does insist, though, that business for ``Annie'' is just fine, thank you. As for how long she'll be with the show, she notes that her contract terminates at the end of the year, that ``I'll be performing at the Broad Moor Hotel in Colorado Springs for the millennium - and then probably take a little time to decide what to do ... continue with the show, go on the road with it ... I don't know.''

Ready for action

A Sept. 1 start date has been set for the ``My First Mister'' feature Christine Lahti is directing. Albert Brooks is attached to the ``Harold and Maude''-type story, and Lahti is looking for a female lead in her late teens.

Lahti, who stars in the USA Network's original ``Judgment Day: The Ellie Nesler Story'' June 23, stresses, ``We're talking about a platonic friendship in `My First Mister.' Considering the trend I find so pathetic, I thought I must mention that fact. The pictures I'm talking about, with older men and young women, make those older guys seem even older and a little desperate.''

On the market

Producer David Wolper tells this column that he's put his beloved Napa Valley estate - with its personal golf course and twin lakes - on the market because his wife wants to spend more time with their grandchildren. They have four, and one on the way.

The dean of TV producers says they expect to buy a condo in Napa so they can visit the many friends they've made since they moved to the Northern California community. Money certainly won't be an object. The estate is on the market for $9.4 million - and people who've seen it tell us it's not at all overpriced.

Point and click

Some of Hollywood's brightest lights turned out for the Access 2 Knowledge global technology festival held over the weekend in West L.A. by Highwood Onlines.

``Titanic's'' Billy Zane came to speak about his new good-news-only Internet site (gnew.com). Melissa Manchester, the Paul Kennedy Dancers, Debbie Allen, Rhea Perlman and Harry Shearer were among the performers/presenters on hand for the festival's GirlSite Vision Awards, honoring organizations and individuals who have used technology to unite people.

Oliver Stone came by to meet with some of the veterans involved in the New Directions Culinary Training Program - which catered the awards dinner. An interactive town hall, as well as other festival activities, were Webcast worldwide.
