MORTON SWINSKY NAMED PRESIDENT AND CEO OF FUJI SECURITIES
CHICAGO, Jan. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Fuji Securities Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Fuji Bank, Limited, announced today that Morton Swinsky, 57, has been named president and chief executive officer, effective Feb. 1. He was formerly executive vice president and co- manager of trading.
Swinsky joined Fuji Securities Inc. in 1990 as senior vice president and head of agency trading.
Prior to joining Fuji Securities Inc., Swinsky was an executive vice president and managing director at Westpac Pollock Government Securities Inc. (formerly William E. Pollock & Co.) in New York City since 1979. He also served as a senior vice president and senior trader at Merrill Lynch Government Securities, Inc. and as head trader of C.J. Devine & Co., both of New York City.
"This is an exciting opportunity," Swinsky said. "Fuji Securities is among the most successful firms in the capital markets area and I look forward to contributing to future successes."
Swinsky succeeds Mitchel Shivers, 44, who is pursuing a position closer to his New Jersey home. Shivers said that while his six-year tenure with Fuji Securities was challenging and fulfilling, the commute between his home in New Jersey and Chicago headquarters took its toll and he looks forward to spending more time with his family.
Headquartered in Chicago, Fuji Securities Inc. is one of 38 primary dealers worldwide with reporting responsibility to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. A wholly owned subsidiary of The Fuji Bank, Limited, it has been a primary dealer for 12 years and currently has 170 employees. Fuji Securities Inc. is a member of the Chicago Board of Trade and the Mercantile Exchange.
