MORRISON KNUDSEN CORP. AWARDED PEPSI-COLA "CUBE PACKAGE" PROJECT

BOISE, Idaho, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Morrison Knudsen Corp. (MK) (NYSE: MRN) announced today that MK has been awarded a contract from the Pepsi-Cola Co. for the installation of a new packaging system called "The Cube."
Pepsi-Cola has test marketed this system in Pittsburgh. Unlike current cases where 24 cans are placed side by side, Pepsi-Cola places one set of 12 cans on top of another set of 12, and creates "The Cube" design. A handle makes this case easier to carry, and the cube design makes for a better fit in the refrigerator.
"Pepsi-Cola's desire to meet the needs of the consumer matches our own commitment to providing the highest quality products and world-class service," said Gunnar E. Sarsten, MK president and chief operating officer. "Success in today's market requires a vision of the future, and a dedication to exceeding the expectations of the client."
The Industrial Manufacturing Division of MK Engineering and Construction, based in Cleveland, will install this packaging system at some test market sites. The project adds to Morrison Knudsen's breadth of services and customers in the food and beverage industry.
Morrison Knudsen Corp. serves the world's construction, transportation, environmental, industrial and power markets as an engineer, contractor and manufacturer, offering complete development, operations and financial services.
