 'The Jasper Challenge' to Involve More Than 1,200
 Students Representing 34 Schools in Three States
 Students Will View Video Presentation
 and Pick 'Best Business Plan'

 ABOUT
 "JASPER": Developed by Vanderbilt University, The Jasper
 Challenge brings together multiple-curriculum
 disciplines in an interactive video series
 designed to help children develop complex problem-
 solving skills by solving problems presented
 in a "real life" adventure of a character named
 Jasper.
 THE ATLANTA
 CONNECTION: "Jasper" was first tested in Spalding Drive
 Elementary School during the 1990-91 school year.
 Based on its success, the program was introduced
 in four more schools in the 1991-92 school year.
 There are plans for expansion to more schools in
 1992-93.
 SCHOOLS
 PARTICIPATING: -- Crabapple Middle School, Atlanta
 -- E.C. West School, Peachtree City
 -- Lake Windward School, Alpharetta
 -- S.L. Lewis School, Riverdale
 -- Spalding Drive Elementary School, Atlanta
 SPECIAL GUESTS
 EXPECTED: -- Representatives from the superintendent's
 office
 -- Representatives from the Fulton County School
 System
 -- Principal and teacher from each participating
 school
 SPONSOR: "The Jasper Challenge" is made possible in the
 Fulton County School System through a grant made
 by The Coca-Cola Foundation. A loaned executive
 from Coca-Cola was provided to implement the
 program in the shools.
