MORE BUSINESS SUBSCRIBERS FOR VODAFONE

BERKSHIRE, England, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Vodafone Group Plc (NYSE: VOD) announced today that net new connections to the Vodafone network in May 1993 exceeded those of April 1993.
 The figures were as follows:
 Gross new connections 33,788
 Net new connections 18,973
The gross new connections in May, which had one less working day than the previous month, were slightly down but the new connections to the business tariff improved at both the gross and net levels due to reducing churn. Net new business subscribers accounted for 65 percent of the total.
Commenting on the May figures, Gerry Whent, chief executive of Vodafone Group Plc, said, "Demand for the business tariff continues to improve and this, coupled with the reduction in churn in May, gave us another good month. This continuing month-on-month improvement is an encouraging trend."
