MOORPARK PLAY BLENDS SCROOGE, TV CHARACTERS.Byline: Angela Randazzo Daily News Staff Writer If Charles Dickens could see a performance of Moorpark Playhouse's version of his classic ``A Christmas Carol,'' he would roll over in his grave - with laughter. Running through Dec. 20, ``A Dickens of a Holiday a.k.a. We Got Scrooged,'' promises to be a fun filled family show full of surprises. ``We've incorporated a lot of the popular T.V. characters in the show,'' said Adrea Gibbs, the play's director. ``We've brought in the Ricardo element (from `I Love Lucy') and the Cratchit family is a takeoff on the `Brady Bunch.' '' ``A Dickens of a Holiday'' is produced by Walk in Time Inc., a nonprofit corporation nonprofit corporation n. an organization incorporated under state laws and approved by both the state's Secretary of State and its taxing authority as operating for educational, charitable, social, religious, civic or humanitarian purposes. newly formed at the Moorpark Playhouse. The two-hour show was first performed at the playhouse in 1996 and directed by Gibbs. McGowan's two older sisters, Kelly and Casey, are also in the cast. ``I get to sing and dance and it's really fun,'' said Kelly McGowan, a seventh-grader at Valley View Junior High School in Simi Valley. Character actor Chris Carnicelli from Simi Valley reprises REPRISES. Another element that makes the show fun is that it's a melodrama and the audience is encouraged to interact with the actors. ``The Moorpark Playhouse is the only venue in Los Angeles or Ventura County where the audience can boo, hiss and cheer,'' Carnicelli said. ``If you did that at the Pantages they'd kick you out.'' Holiday music also will be incorporated in the show and a playhouse Christmas tradition will return. ``The tradition of the audience singing `The Twelve Days of Christmas' as each row stands up will be resurrected,'' said Linda Bredemann, the show's producer and owner of the Moorpark Playhouse.
