MOORPARK ON SCHEDULE DESPITE FIRE, TEAM GETS SOME PRACTICE.

MOORPARK -- Despite a blazing wildfire in the area, the Moorpark High football team continued Monday with its preparation for the Southern Section Northern Division championship game.

``Basically, the kids were just going to lift weights and do a walk- through,'' Dearborn said. ``Students will return to school (today), and we really appreciate Simi Valley athletic director Matt LeBell offering us the use of their field.''

Several Moorpark players, coaches and administrators attended a luncheon Monday in Long Beach honoring Southern Section finalists in all divisions.

Dearborn stayed at Moorpark to help firefighters and handle administration duties.
