Whether the Moorpark school district should develop its headquarters site or sell it for a profit is being debated by a seven-member panel weighing the future of the two-acre parcel. A committee representing administrators, teachers, parents and residents met Wednesday Wednesday: see week. to discuss what to do with district-owned land near New Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. and Flory avenues. ``We're looking at a five-year plan Five-Year Plan, Soviet economic practice of planning to augment agricultural and industrial output by designated quotas for a limited period of usually five years. for the two acres, and our first job is to decide whether or not they are truly surplus property - that is, property which the district can't utilize for any other purpose,'' said Carrie Pentis, a committee member representing a Flory School parents group. ``If the property is designated surplus, then the district can sell it, and the money can go back into the schools.'' The parcel now is the site for Flory School, district offices, a large bus barn and parking areas. In August, the transportation, business and maintenance departments moved from the site to a 61,000-square-foot building on Maureen Lane that the district bought for $3.5 million. The committee is now debating what should be done with the land after the rest of the district operation moves to Maureen Lane, probably in five years. ``Several possibilities for the land were discussed, including commercial zoning, senior housing, apartments,'' Pentis said. ``But we were brought together to discuss the surplus status and zoning; that's the point we're at now . . . and we can make suggestions on the other areas, but not recommendations.'' Before the district can act, the state Education Code requires that a community advisory committee designate des·ig·nate tr.v. des·ig·nat·ed, des·ig·nat·ing, des·ig·nates 1.
